Krauthammer Nails It

Last night on Bret Baier’s show, Charles Krauthammer addressed the President’s response to the jihadist who screamed “Allahu Akbar” as he sprayed down a bus full of American servicemen at the airport in Frankfurt, killing two and wounding two before his pistol jammed…

Spot on, indeed.

One of the worst things about Wednesday’s terrorist attack is that within minutes of Jared Loughner’s shooting spree it was immediately assumed that he was egged on by conservative “incivility,” including a “target” map of Gabrielle Giffords’ district on Sarah Palin’s web site, and for two weeks the country was subjected to lectures about how the tone of our political dialogue needs to change. And yet when a Kosovar Muslim who unlike Loughner actually did have a political (if religiously inspired) motive for what he did, our political betters are mute.

We refuse to name our enemy. It signals that we are not serious about defeating him. If there is any issue on which both sides of the political aisle should agree – after all, the Islamic Sharia law jihadists like the attacker in Frankfurt want to see imposed upon the infidels would signal horrifying consequences for the lifestyle Left – it’s this one. And while it’s without question that elements of both sides are soft on jihadists the Obama administration’s flaccidity on the issue is unprecedented.
