The Democrats Ain’t The Party Of God And Jerusalem

They were probably better off leaving God and Jerusalem out of the platform like they originally wanted to before the media got hold of it.

But rabbit ears – and panic – prevailed. And this was the result…

Did you catch that? To carry the motion and change the platform, they needed a 2/3rds vote in favor.

They didn’t get better than half the vote on any of the three attempts, and then Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (by the way, his name is really Antonio Villa; the Raigosa is his wife’s name, but when they got married he agreed to add her name to his as a compromise rather than take her name on – because she sure as hell wasn’t going to take his on), who was holding the gavel, fell on the sword and “deemed” the motion passed.

And did you hear whoever that was on the stage with him tell him to let the delegates vote as they wanted? He ignored that, obviously.

Naturally, the pro-Palestinian mob and the Godless lobby were pissed about that and booed Villaraigosa for the stolen vote.

Democrats who can’t even practice democracy at their own convention!

Sure, there are shenanigans on the Republican side as well, and the GOP convention isn’t always perfect, either. But that doesn’t take the stink off this turd. Here was a cascade of failure which highlighted for Jews and Christians alike that if you’re voting Democrat you’re voting with people who’d probably rather Sodom and Gomorrah than God and Jerusalem.

This is who they are and how they run their convention. Is it any surprise they can’t run the country?

Oh, but wait. There’s more. Not only did the majority of the delegates clearly vote against God and Jerusalem – regardless of Villaraigosa’s Stalinist vote-counting practices – they won’t even take free stuff from churches

The Democratic National Committee banned dozens of Charlotte churches from distributing gift baskets to delegates because the congregations hold values that are contrary to the party platform, according to local religious leaders.

“They told us our views on women’s rights are contrary to the Democratic party platform,” said David Benham, the lead organizer of the Charlotte714 religious movement.

Charlotte714 is a group of more than 100 churches across the region that mobilized to pray for the Democratic National Convention. More than 9,000 people gathered last Sunday for a time of worship and prayer in advance of the convention.

A gathering of some 200 Muslims praying in Charlotte was given extensive national coverage. The massive Christian received scant coverage.

Benham said the name references an Old Testament passage in 2 Chronicles 7:14 – calling the nation to prayer.

He said 56 churches wanted to “Adopt-a-Delegation.” They put together gift baskets featuring Carolina Pralines and a letter welcoming them to the city and offering assistance in transportation, childcare or spiritual matters.

“We were just trying to display Southern hospitality,” he said. “We wanted them to know we were happy to serve them.”

However, DNC officials conveyed to city leaders that the Christians would not be allowed to present their gift baskets.

“I got a call from the mayor’s office speaking on behalf of the convention and they asked us not to participate,” he said. “They told us our views on women’s rights are contrary to the platform.”

Benham said he was shocked because all the churches involved are mainline denominations ranging from Baptists and Methodists to Assembly of God.

“I was blown away and could not believe it,” he told Fox News.

So instead of gift baskets, Benham asked if they could send welcome letters to the delegates. Again, he said the DNC refused – because the churches hold pro-life values.

“They responded back and said no because our views on women,” he said. “They would not allow it.”

You can ram that platform change down your delegates’ throats all you want. You haven’t fooled anyone, and now your convention is visibly tainted. See you in November, Democrats – and then we’ll see many of you no more.
