It’s Genetic

Jovon Belcher, a man who possessed great athletic skill and a future most would envy did a very bad thing. He killed his girlfriend with a handgun. Then he finished his injury by killing himself with a handgun. This is terrible and our hearts go out the families left without answers as to why he did it.

After this incident came to light Bob Costas started asking for Gun-Control. The Kansas City Star’s Sports Writer Jason Whitlock said, which Costas later quoted: “I would argue that your rationalizations speak to how numb we are in this society to gun violence and murder. We’ve come to accept our insanity. We’d prefer to avoid seriously reflecting upon the absurdity of the prevailing notion that the second amendment somehow enhances our liberty rather than threatens it. How many young people have to die senselessly?”

I don’t know how many people must die but I do know if somebody wants you, or himself, dead; it’s going to happen.

Therefore I would state without a doubt that if this guy didn’t own a gun he would not have shot his girlfriend and then himself. He could have used a knife as has been witnessed several times lately as nuts have tried carving un-born babies from the womb. Then he could’ve jumped off of the top of the stadium and killed himself. He could’ve strangled her and thrown himself in front of an 18-wheeler or hanged himself; whatever it takes.

Therefore, I suggest we institute, immediate CUTLERY AND BASE JUMPING CONTROLS as well as prohibiting people from strangling each other manually or congesting traffic by actively pursuing a limited career as a speed bump. This will stop suicide by Base Jumping and Homicide by Stabbing and Cutting. Traffic will flow freely and without distractions.

Under this program NO knife may be sold without a background check and a three day waiting period. Immediate purchase of butter knives will be prohibited for the brutality shown when hammering a person to death with a blunt, bladed object. Additionally, all buildings must be subterranean and allow for nobody to have a straight wall with an angle greater than 30 degrees and over six inches high so people may leap to their deaths.

We must have government controls with Homeland Security conducting warrantless searches or at least” knock and go” forced entries conducted at meal times to increase the chances of catching criminals with illicitly possessed tableware. Everybody knows butter knives are gateway objects leading to the abuse of Bread Knives, Carving Sets and the dreaded “Butcher” Knife. (OOOOOOOO, the terror that title strikes in the layman’s heart)!

Bob Costas is a sports caster (and not a very good one in my opinion). He’s stepping into an area where he shows himself to be woefully ignorant: the Constitution of the United States and History in general. Jason Whitlock is holding Costas’ hand as they continue their adventure in Dumb-bass Land.

Whitlock’s okay with: “I would argue that your rationalizations speak to how numb we are in this society to gun violence and murder. We’ve come to accept our insanity.” Then he blows it.

We have accepted our Culture of Violence and homed in on objects and vilified tools for the insane actions of the operator. Here’s a fact for you: man’s been killing his brothers since he could make his fingers wrap around a neck.

Men are meat eaters and as such are killers. Killing is a genome embedded in our DNA. As we’ve progressed in good ways, we’ve improved our death delivery systems. The homicide and (cultural) suicide delivery systems range from the personal (hands and feet) through chemical (poisons and biological agents) to the inclusion of physics driven programs (firearms through nuclear weapons).

So show me where “controls” will work when the base element involved is a man or woman. This is a terrible tragedy but Belcher could’ve killed without a gun. Taking away guns WON’T change man’s willingness to destroy himself and others. Extolling personal philosophical theories can’t and won’t change anything. They accomplish nothing.

Bob Costas and Whitlock are opportunistic fools cashing in on tragedy. Constitutional scholars and Historians they aren’t.

Thanks for listening.
