Les Miles Kicks Off ‘Over The Edge for Adoption’

GeneMills-LesMiles-LaurenVizza-MikeEdmonson-webLSU Coach Les Miles formally kicked off the Over The Edge for Adoption event today as he rappelled 308 feet down a 24 story building.

We still have a few open spots for rappellers tomorrow. Visit Over The Edge for Adoption for more information, or just stop by One American Place. Registration is in the lobby.

Special thanks to Randy Hayden at Creative Communications for managing the media and our corporate sponsors: Cajun Industries, Delta College, St. Elizabeth Foundation and Coastal Corrosion Control.

The award for raising the most money goes to Commissioner Scott Angelle and Sen. Fred Mills who temporarily took up residence on a billboard in Lafayette to help promote this event.

Tomorrow at 1pm we’ll take a break from rappelling so that Governor Jindal can sign SB 220, Louisiana Has Faith in Families Act, by Sen. Mike Walsworth and Sen. Rick Ward. The bill will help to streamline the adoption process in Louisiana.

Joining Gov. Jindal will be Dr. Russell Moore, the incoming President of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and the author of Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches.
