The concept of normal confuses me when approached from a political/ governmental and now approaching regency of operation.

Normal’s a strange concept. Defined as an adjective, it tries to describe concepts beyond the nature of mathematical recordation of statistical data. If it happens often enough and the root of the action adheres to a set pattern of repetitive action or conduct then humans accept the actions as “normal”. Normal is defined below but I’ll add commentary at the end to clarify my point (I hope):

normal (adjective) 1.conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural. (See paragraph #2)

2. serving to establish a standard (Presidential and Congressional performance based on a self-activated sense of entitlement to rule.)

3. Psychology .

a. approximately average in any psychological trait, as intelligence, personality, or emotionaladjustment.

b. free from any mental disorder; sane. (The President and Congress are composed of men and women of average intelligence. Many have extensive education. This doesn’t allow them greater insight. It appears to permit them to take license to behave as they’re separate and apart from society because of their position. They believe winning the job through the electoral process, instantaneously qualifies them for the job. While all consider themselves leaders, many are merely bullies accustomed to getting their own way.)

4. Biology, Medicine/Medical .

a. free from any infection or other form of disease or malformation, or from experimental therapy or manipulation. (This attitude of superiority is in itself a malformation. The politician’s experience as directed by self-activated self-possession and a belief system generated within by circumstances generated form outside. They learn to believe they’re superior, whether competent or not.)

b. of natural occurrence. (None of this is natural in an open society. It’s created.)

5. Mathematics .

a. being at right angles, as a line; perpendicular. (Because of allegedly antagonistic political ideologies, the participants in political action are at odds with each other when points of debate intersect. They’re not meant to be in alignment in any manner. Interaction (give and take) on specific issues leads to developing an arc. This could move the issue to a JUST conclusion faster. It’s only when the two parties resist each other based on the polarized strength of ideology, the nation moves toward infinitely divergent performance.)

b. of the nature of or pertaining to a mathematical normal. (Watching the Debt Limit controversy unfolding becomes appreciable when you honestly assess the actions of both parties and their leadership. There’s a formula followed for the completion of this equation. It’s axiomatic the parties behave as they do to produce the destructive rancor slows government to a crawl.)

c. (of an orthogonal system of real functions) defined so that the integral of the square of the absolute value of any function is 1. (Neither political party sees their ideology and dogma as anything but absolute (complete and unconditional) and maintaining the ultimate value to be accepted.)

d.(of a topological space) having the property that corresponding to every pair of disjoint closed sets are two disjoint open sets, each containing one of the closed sets. (Can you define political parties any better? Disjoint sets?)

e. (of a subgroup) having the property that the same set of elements results when all the elements of the subgroup are operated consistently on the left and, as well as versus as in controversy consistently on the right by any element of the group invariant.

We know there’s nothing describable as NORMAL. Various factors and pollutants may affect the Actual and Real presentation of the concept. Its differences are concealed beneath the cover of a “normal” appearance. An apple may hold a worm, an orange may be bitter, a Platypus appears normal to other Platypuses but to humans it appears a queer duck with deformed feet and tail; and unlike the duck, the platypus  produces and uses venom. Males have a pair of spurs on their hind limbs which deliver venom during mating season. (Sounds like Congress to me.)

In politics it would be better to reject our politicians’ actions as exhibiting “normal” behavior. It’s more like it’s business as usual affecting you in totally abnormal ways.
