Gowdy, who is rapidly becoming one of the most feared and respected members of Congress and is even being touted as a potential replacement for John Boehner as the next Speaker of the House, was speaking yesterday to push the ENFORCE The Law Act, which passed yesterday in the House. The bill would would authorize the House or Senate to sue the executive branch for not enforcing laws and provide an expedited process through federal district courts.
Gowdy was the bill’s author. Five Democrats joined with 228 Republicans in passing it, 233 to 181.
The Senate won’t even vote on the bill, but that says a lot more about Harry Reid’s seriousness than it does about Gowdy’s.
