Thank you’s and fluff talk just isn’t for Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI).
Instead, Amash lambasted his opponent Brian Ellis for running a “smear campaign,” which at one point portrayed Amash as a friend to Al Qaeda, during his victory speech last night in the congressional primary.
“You owe my family and this community an apology for your disgusting, despicable smear campaign,” said Amash. “You had the audacity to try and call me today after running a campaign that was called the nastiest in the country. I ran for office to stop people like you.”
Amash doesn’t stop at Ellis. He calls out Pete Hoekstra (R-MI), who backed Ellis in the race.
“You are a disgrace,” said Amash. “And I’m glad we could hand you one more loss before you fade into total obscurity and irrelevance.”
Watch the greatness here:
Amash has never been the average politician. The Libertarian-leaning conservative often votes against GOP leadership and posts detail-by-detail explanations on every vote he makes in the House.
