NOPD Still Not Sure If Two New Orleans Double Shootings Are Connected

After two double shootings in the New Orleans East area of the city took place yesterday and the day before, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) still does not know if the two incidences are connected.

The first shooting occurred on Mardi Gras day in the 5200 block of Lakeview Court where apparently a man shot two 18 year-old men outside of a house party that was taking place.

The second shooting occurred yesterday, just a block away from the Mardi Gras double shooting and has left one 42 year-old man dead and a 40 year-old woman in critical condition.

NOPD is still looking for the gunman involved with the first shooting.

In other New Orleans crime news, the NOPD has arrested and charged 26 year-old Donald Gamble Jr. with two counts of armed robbery for allegedly robbing two women at gunpoint on Bourbon Street.

Gamble reportedly walked up behind the two women and grabbed one of their purses. Then, bystanders tried to apparently help the two women, but Gamble snatched the other woman’s purse while holding a pistol and then fled the scene.
