Guess Which City Had 5 Armed Robberies In 6 Hours Yesterday

In just six hours, there were five people robbed at gunpoint in five different neighborhoods in New Orleans yesterday.

One of the armed robbery cases included a man being pistol-whipped while sitting in his truck in the Lakeshore neighborhood, thought to be one of the more upscale areas of the city.

#1: The first armed robbery, which actually occurred late Monday night, involved a 29 year-old woman near Ursalines Avenue and Treme Street in the Treme neighborhood. Apparently, a man approached the woman and demanded she hand over all of her belongings, including her purse and cell-phone.

#2: Then, just about an hour later, a 41 year-old man was sitting in his truck in the Lakeshore neighborhood when he was approached by a group of people. The group ended up pistol whipping the man and taking his belongings and his truck.

#3: No less than two hours after, a 37 year-old man was robbed at gunpoint in the Little Woods neighborhood of New Orleans East. The man was stepping out of his car when a suspect put a gun to the man’s head, took his belongings and then drove off with his car.

#4: Later on, in the Warehouse District near the Central Business District, a man gunned down a 21 year-old woman, demanding she hand over her purse and cell-phone.

#5: In the Bywater area, a 42 year-old man was approached by a gunman in the 3000 block of Dauphine St. The gunman ran off with the man’s wallet and cell-phone.
