Meet Melaney Linton, the executive director of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, which facilitates the abortion giant’s offices in Texas and Louisiana.
Linton first became executive director of the gulf coast operation back in 2013, serving as Chief Operating Officer for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast before that since 2007. As Chief Operating Officer, in 2010, Linton earned $151,475 plus an additional $27, 082 for “reportable compensation” and $12,420 for “other compensation.”
Now, as the executive director of one of the most corrupt organizations in the South, Linton is leading Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast down a path of deceitfulness that claims the abortion giant does not actually perform or fund abortions.
Since the fifth Planned Parenthood expose video was released, which shows a top Texas Planned Parenthood official discussing the selling and profiting of aborted baby body parts, Linton is in full crisis management mode.
Once the video was released, Linton went into damage control, saying that “extremists” were targeting Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast with “outrageous and completely false claims.”
Linton went on to say this: “The footage released today doesn’t show Planned Parenthood staff engaged in any wrongdoing or agreeing to violate any legal or medical standards.”
Completely false claims?
The expose footage clearly shows a Planned Parenthood official at a Houston clinic talking about the dissection, sale and profit of unborn baby body parts. Yet, Linton claims these accusations are false.
After Gov. Bobby Jindal announced that he would initiate a much-needed investigation into Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Linton outright lied in a response back, claiming that the gulf coast operation does not fund or even provide abortion services.
In the letter to Jindal, Linton says that while the Planned Parenthood Center for Choice Inc. does provide abortion services, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast does not.
This, in itself, is a lie, as the fifth expose video shows Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast Melissa Farrell discussing the organization’s long history of harvesting unborn baby body parts to sell and profit from. This operation can only be done through providing abortion services, despite the claim that Linton makes.
In the video, Farrell even admits that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast abortionists in the past have altered the way they perform abortions in order to get the unborn baby’s body parts in better condition so they can sell them later on.
Here’s what Farrell said in the footage: “Some of our doctors in the past have projects and they’re collecting the specimens, so they do it in a way that they get the best specimens, so I know it can happen. If we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, we can make it part of the budget that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this. It’s all just a matter of line items.”
This is directly contrary to Linton’s claim in her letter to Jindal, in which she simply states that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is not in the business of selling unborn baby body parts for profit, though Farrell says otherwise in the video footage.
And this is not the first time Linton and Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast have found themselves in deep water with corruption, fraud and abuse.
Back in 2013, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast was forced to reach a settlement in a case where they were accused of Medicaid fraud between 2003-2009. Subsequently the abortion giant had to pay $4.3 million in the settlement.
Also back in 2013, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) helped drive an investigation into Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to determine how the organization uses its millions in public funding, specifically trying to find if the organization funds abortions with the money.
Just like how Farrell explains in the new expose Planned Parenthood video, Linton has a long history of spinning the facts to make it seem as though Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is a perfect little healthcare operation that does no wrong.
Quite the contrary though.
Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast has been involved with questionable abortion practices, fraud, abuse and any other word to explain ‘crookedness’ for years.
This makes Melaney Linton the Cecile Richards of the South.
