Mayor Mitch Landrieu of New Orleans has followed his sister former Sen. Mary Landrieu’s lead and is officially endorsing Hillary Clinton for president.

In a Clinton campaign announcement, Landrieu said “There is only one person in this race who knows how to get results for them: Hillary Clinton.”

Landrieu also slammed Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders as having “tooth fairy ideas” and “who does not have a long record fighting for under-served, predominately African-American communities, like New Orleans, Hillary’s a proven leader who understands that being president means doing all parts of the job and delivering for working families.”

Of course, when Mary Landrieu was running her failed Senate re-election campaign more than a year ago against Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), she brought along Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail, giving a very early understood-but-not-said endorsement of Clinton.

Ever since then, anytime Mary Landrieu makes a public appearance, whether on CNN or MSNBC, she is defending Clinton like a campaign surrogate.

Also, the Landrieu political dynasty has long been friends with the Clinton political dynasty. Just last month, the Landrieu’s (with the help of Calvin and Caroline Fayard) raked in thousands of dollars for Clinton at a swanky New Orleans fundraiser.

The minimum amount an attendee can make is a $1,000 donation. Or attendees can donate $2,700 to take a photo with Clinton or $10,000 and $27,000.
