Early Calls for Super Tuesday

Here’s a brief breakdown of the early calls this dramatic Super Tuesday:

As of 7 p.m. EST, polls closed in Georgia, Vermont, and Virginia. Of those, only one was called on the Republican side. Donald Trump takes Georgia, with Vermont and Virginia too close to call. Interestingly, Rubio made some big gains in Virginia and Cruz made big moves in Georgia, narrowing those gaps tremendously. Also, John Kasich had an early, but small lead over Trump in Vermont.

It could very well be a night that isn’t as Trump as many feared at first.

UPDATE: As of 7 p.m. CST, CNN and others have projected a Trump victory in Alabama, Tennessee, and Massachusetts. Interestingly, Ted Cruz has a decent lead in the Oklahoma exit polling.

UPDATE 2: As of 7:35 p.m. CST, Fox News calls hotly contested Virginia primary for Donald Trump, who is currently edging out Marco Rubio 35-31.
