John Fleming has secured two major conservative endorsements in his U.S. Senate bid.
On Friday, he won the endorsement of FreedomWorks PAC. “Louisiana needs a proven pro-freedom conservative as its next senator, and Rep. John Fleming is exactly what the doctor ordered,” said FreedomWorks PAC Chairman Adam Brandon in a release. “Rep. Fleming has taken the lead on holding the corrupt IRS commissioner accountable and fought to advance pro-growth economic policies that will restore our economy and benefit all Americans.”
The organization also cited Fleming’s membership in the House Freedom Caucus and his perspective as a doctor as reasons for backing him. Fleming has a 91% lifetime rating with the group.
John Fleming said in a release: “I am honored to receive the endorsement of FreedomWorks. I share FreedomWorks goals of advocating for individual freedom, conservative values, and personal liberty. On the heels of Tuesday’s debate victory, this is terrific boost to our campaign to keep that momentum going. We are the one conservative campaign with the opportunity to take on and defeat the liberal and establishment campaigns in this race, and we are confident that with help of FreedomWorks and the thousands of other Louisiana conservatives, we will be the voice for Louisiana’s values in the United States Senate.”
Today, Fleming followed his endorsement by FreedomWorks with an endorsement by Utah Senator Mike Lee. Lee is a hero of grassroots conservatives. Lee is also one of the few remaining Republican #NeverTrump members of the Senate and some of the other candidates, especially Rob Maness, may try to seize on that.
John Fleming said in a release: “I am honored to receive Senator Lee’s endorsement. Mike Lee has earned the reputation as a strong constitutional conservative who fights each day for hardworking Americans to rise in society. Senator Lee is exactly the type of strong conservative I look forward to working hand-in-hand with to advance our Louisiana values in the United States Senate. Senator Lee’s endorsement continues our momentum of uniting conservatives behind our candidacy and I am confident this will continue to propel our campaign to the December run-off and onto victory.”
Senator Mike Lee said in a release: “I am excited to endorse John Fleming for United States Senate. John is a proven conservative that the people of Louisiana can trust to shake up the Washington establishment and fight for conservative principles. We need more John Flemings in the United States Senate. Louisiana has the opportunity to elect a trusted conservative this November and I am proud to join the Fleming Team.”
Fleming is starting to lock down his ideologically conservative base and these endorsements should help.
