Yesterday, the Louisiana House advanced a bill that would repeal the sales tax increase passed last year. During the debate on the bill, State Rep. Alan Seabaugh (R-Shreveport) spoke in favor of the bill by State Rep. Lance Harris (R-Alexandria).
“Is a surplus a good thing?” asked Seabaugh. Seabaugh then pointed out that the budget “deficit” was the difference between what the state can pay for and the wish list of Governor John Bel Edwards.

Seabaugh points out that a surplus is when the state takes too much money from Louisiana taxpayers. He urged his colleagues to do the right thing and give the money back to the taxpayers of Louisiana.
