Biden Allies Attempt To Turn Epiphany Into Insurrection Day

There’s a major conflict on today’s calendar. President Joe Biden will this afternoon award medals to the heroes of Jan. 6, 2021, on the two-year anniversary of the break-in. The Department of Justice is poised to charge and prosecute up to a thousand more persons following the Jan. 6, 2021, capital break-in and protest, seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in punitive damages. The Biden Administration will naturally keep the fires stoked now that the House January 6th Committee has formally disbanded and transferred remaining business to the DOJ. According to RVIVR.com:

Two years after the Capitol break-in, President Joe Biden is keeping the urban legends going about the “insurrection.” According to CNN, the second anniversary of the break-in will be accompanied by giving medals to the heroes who protected the Capitol that day. For the first time in his presidency, Biden will give the Presidential Citizens Medal to 12 (an auspicious number given the holiday) persons including law enforcement officers who were injured by the crowds and posthumously to the one Capitol Police officer who died … afterward. Expect a dog and pony show with plenty of digs at the 20 Republicans who won’t give up their attempts to bring in a more conservative House Speaker. All the while, numerous political prisoners of the break-in still have yet to see justice.

It’s a holiday. Not the day when Biden’s 12 heroes stood up to rioters breaking into the U.S. Capitol, but when the Three Wise Men found their Messiah over 2,000 years ago. Across the world, today is Epiphany, Three Kings Day, and even Christmas Day itself. More on that below. But first, let’s look at what happened this Epiphany morning: a sunrise prayer vigil organized by interfaith leaders at the east steps of the Capitol (and not for Epiphany), a remembrance event led by U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, and scheduled at noon EST is a “democracy” rally to be attended by U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin and Martin Luther King III, followed by the Biden medal bestowment at 2 p.m. EST.

A bell was rung for each of several names of those who died following the capital break-in at Jeffries’ rally. Outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other high-ranking Democrats attended. Note the word “following” — this is important. The names read were not just from the break-in, but also Billy Evans who died in April 2021 after a driver rammed him, Howard Charles Liebengood who was at the break-in but it was unclear if the event was connected to his death, and several present who had committed suicide in the months ahead including D.C. officers Gunther Hashida, Jeffrey Smith, and Kyle Defreytag. The most direct name read was Brian Sicknick, a 42-year-old responding Capitol Police officer who was pepper-sprayed during the break-in and had two thromboembolic strokes the next day and died. It was unclear whether pre-existing conditions contributed. No bell was rung for the four protesters who died, either innocently or while breaking in. It’s clear now the Biden Administration, two years after the break-in, will attempt to make this date a tragic day to reflect on conservatives behaving badly — a “day of alchemy” as radio commentator Buck Sexton quipped today referencing the many opinions and legal ambiguity surrounding the protest and its goals. But there’s a certain irony here that RVIR pointed out. As we approach 3 million illegal border crossings:

[T]oday is Christmas Day to 300 million Orthodox Christians across the world. It’s also the canonical Twelfth Day of Christmas, of “twelve drummers drumming” fame. It’s an important day, though not up there with Easter and Mother’s Day in terms of its popular embrace. […] the day commemorates the visit of the three Magi or the Wise Men to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. […] It’s a big deal for the illegal immigrants the Biden Administration is letting through our porous southern border in the form of Día de Los Reyes today (expect it to grow in popularity as their population grows).

Team Biden may want to check and see how diverse Americans are celebrating today, as Three Kings is a major celebration south of the border, and perhaps soon north of it. The party accused of booing God and furthering the War on Christmas may want to take a cue from those celebrating today and focus on truly “building back better” — not needlessly dividing a nation for political gain. Happy Epiphany from The Hayride, regardless of the mainstream media’s religious illiteracy. Enjoy some king cake or take a plunge while ignoring Biden’s theatrics.
