Regular readers know I’ve spent the past several weeks serializing The Necessary Men at The American Spectator. It’s the fourth book in my Mike Holman series, following a Florida media mogul who slips into Cuba under a fake identity to do what the regime never could: turn the power on, get the water running, and pay people an honest wage – and bring down communism in the process.

It’s already picking up some attention — Eric Skrmetta called it “the rare political novel that shows what free people and free markets are for, not merely what they are against,” and I’ll take that as high praise from someone whose own day job is a front-row seat to how bureaucracies actually work (or don’t).
