Legislators ‘Put a Bow On It’ for Third Straight Year In Support of St. Jude

Editor’s Note: Believe it or not, this idea actually came about as a brainstorm between this site’s publisher and Reps. Broadwater and Jeff Thompson (R-Shreveport)…

For the third year in a row, State Representative Chris Broadwater, (R-Hammond), is promoting “Put a Bow On It,” a fund-raiser at the Louisiana State Capitol in support of children’s hospitals.

Past recipients of the first two “Put a Bow on It,” fund-raisers held in previous years, include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children in Shreveport. This year, the funds raised will once again benefit St. Jude.

Broadwater is encouraging all Representatives to give $100 on Tuesday, May 27, to be donated to the children’s hospital, and “put a bow on it” by wearing a bow tie that day. He will also ask private businesses to donate.

Widely known for regularly sporting a bow tie, Broadwater said, “This event is a fun way for the legislature to support this important health center for children. I hope my fellow legislators will join me in wearing some great looking bow ties to help such a worthy cause.”
