John Bel Edwards Is Going On Tour To Promote His Medicaid Expansion – Sound Like Obama?

Governor John Bel Edwards (D) is taking a page from President Obama’s playbook by going on a state-wide tour to sell his massive Medicaid expansion plan under Obamacare to voters across Louisiana.

Dubbed the “Healthy Louisiana” tour, Edwards is taking Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Rebekah Gee on the road with him, where he plans to visit New Orleans tomorrow to get more and more residents signed up on Medicaid.

The massive government-funded expansion will add about 375,000 Louisiana residents to the Medicaid rolls, by using data from the state’s food stamp program known as SNAP in order to determine eligibility.

Already, Edwards has visited Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Houma and Monroe in an effort to get residents signed up on Medicaid.
