What Real Presidential Leadership On Libya Looks Like

You’ll notice that our current occupant of the White House (when he’s not locked out of the place) has yet to address the nation on the war he’s waging in Libya.

A while back, when we first decided we’d had enough of Qaddafi’s antics and bombed him, another president took a few minutes to tell the people what we were doing…

It’s worth noting that the bombing of Libya in 1986 was a one-off. It was a punitive raid intended to send a signal that planning terror operations against Americans doesn’t go unnoticed.

Compare that to what we’re doing now – with no speech to the people. No consultation with Congress. And no clear statement on what we’re doing there, why, on whose behalf or how we expect it to end.

2012 can’t get here fast enough.
