Cassidy Hosting Small Business Export Conference Next Week

Rep. Bill Cassidy’s office asked us to pass this along, as the new trade deals with Colombia, Panama and South Korea have opened up some opportunities for Louisiana folks to do export business in those countries…

Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. will host a Small Business Export Conference on Wednesday, November 9, 2011.  It will be from 8:00 A.M. to 12:45 P.M. at the Baton Rouge Marriott on 5500 Hilton Avenue.

“There are tremendous opportunities in the global economy for local businesses to export their goods and services,” said Congressman Cassidy.  “This conference will provide the tools and information necessary for Sixth District business owners to seize those opportunities.”

The conference will inform business owners on how to engage overseas markets, how to transport products, what fees are associated with exports and what laws would apply to them.  Representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Small Business Administration, the Export-Import Bank and other relevant government agencies will make presentations.  Business owners who have been successful with exports will also discuss their experiences.
