These come from the 48-hour reports the candidate is filing. Edwards doesn’t seem to be raising money at a very fast clip; maybe he’s too tired or maybe there just aren’t that many people willing to write a check to support a candidate for Congress who’s already spent the better part of a decade in federal prison on public corruption charges.

But we do have a Don Kelly sighting, so there’s your “putting the band back together” moment for the day. And we have a massive donation from Raleigh Newman, a high-dollar ambulance chaser from Lake Charles. And there’s a sugar-cane farmer named Hugh Andre, who you can read about here; all you really need to know about Edwards and sugar-cane farmers is that Charlie Melancon used to be one of Edwards’ road crew when he was the sugar industry’s lobbyist in Louisiana. There are lots of the Edwards good-ole-boy crowd among the sugar people, though thankfully not all are in that boat.

What we do know about these three is that you can’t get any older and whiter than these guys. So much for the diversity of the Louisiana Democrat Party…
