Kennedy Stays Out Of AG Race, Landry Mulls Whether To Tie One On In Celebratory Fashion Tonight

Just today, State Treasurer John Kennedy (R) shot down years-long rumors that he would run in the state’s gubernatorial race or the attorney general (AG) race when he announced he will be seeking re-election.

And this could not be better news for former Congressman and AG-hopeful Jeff Landry (R), who may just have the election tied up at this point. To show his excitement that Kennedy would not be blocking an AG win for him, Landry said this in a statement today:

“John Kennedy is a trusted Louisiana public servant who has served our state well. John has consistently put the taxpayers first in arguing for efficient and effective government. As our next Attorney General, I look forward to working with John to advance these principles in state government.”

Landry, though, is set to face a tough challenge from incumbent AG Buddy Caldwell. However, sources within the business community say that business leaders in the state will be doing everything they can to make sure Caldwell loses the election.
