The hearing is still going on, and it’s pretty bad stuff – Comey is sticking tenaciously to the party line about how everything Hillary Clinton did in the context of her e-mail scandal was sloppy and terrible but not illegal despite clear language in the statute in question to that effect. And one Republican House member after another is throwing up their hands at the patent nonsense that results.

Here was a good example of how it went, with perhaps the best examiner on the committee settling in for questions to the FBI director.
