This was shot from a building overlooking the approach of the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi, during BRPD officer Matthew Gerald’s funeral procession on Friday. Gerald was the first of three slain law enforcement officers to be laid to rest after the July 17 massacre.

It is fitting, if ironic, that Black Lives Matter tried twice to shut down I-10 in Baton Rouge but failed, but Matthew Gerald managed that feat.
