The Louisiana Democratic Party is on the verge of extinction. The only statewide office they control is governor and they’re increasingly uncompetitive outside of major cities and majority black areas of the state. Republicans hold solid control of both houses of the Legislature as well.
Before the New Year, it was announced that one of the few remaining white Democrat state reps, Jack Montoucet, would replace Charlie Melancon as head of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Mountoucet’s resignation becomes effective on January 15th.
His Crowley-area state representative seat is expected to go Republican in the upcoming special election.
But don’t worry, JBE has this special election covered. There won’t be a Democratic candidate, per se. Instead, there will be a “Republican” puppet who will be running with JBE’s blessing.
The JBE-backed RINO running for Montoucet’s seat is expected to be Crowley trial lawyer Jeremy J. “Jay” Suire. Suire donated $100 to JBE on November 10, 2015. Suire has also donated to former Democrat State Rep. Alfred Williams, donated $1200 to Montoucet, and donated money to various Acadia Parish Democrats.
But Suire is not the only JBE “Republican” running in the upcoming special elections. There is going to be one running to replace conservative leader Mike Johnson.
State Senator Ryan Gatti is one of the biggest RINOs and JBE suckups in the Louisiana State Senate. His little brother, Robbie, appears to be cut from that same mold. Even worse, Robbie Gatti is going to be running to replace Johnson, with JBE’s support. Replacing Mike Johnson with Robbie Gatti is like replacing steak with tofu.
Democrats are scrambling to find a candidate to run for state Treasurer. But it is unlikely they will find anyone who can run a credible statewide campaign. That is because there really isn’t much of a bench in the Louisiana Democratic Party. It is likely that he will have a puppet “Republican” run with his support in that race as well.
Conservatives need to be aware of these RINOs.
