The New Orleans Democrat Kakistocracy Has Gone National

You know this post is about Mitch Landrieu getting named as the Clown In Charge of dispensing swag from the Biden infrastructure plan, right? That Landrieu, the abject failure of a New Orleans mayor who’s been stewing away in irrelevance for the past four years before finally getting called up off the Democrats’ wafer-thin bench, was the best Biden can do is quite telling.

The particulars of Monument Mitch’s new gig are these

Big news from the White House. A former New Orleans Mayor is getting a new title and will soon be in charge of President Joe Biden’s $1 Trillion Infrastructure Plan.

President Biden is giving former Mayor Mitch Landrieu this new leading role. We are expecting the President to sign the Infrastructure Bill into law today.

Former New Orleans Mayor, Mitch Landrieu will coordinate across federal agencies to work on roads, ports, bridges, and airports. This is huge for Louisiana since Landrieu knows firsthand what devastation can do to a state and what is needed immediately on the home front.

You probably recall the 61-year-old former mayor was in office in 2010. That is when the massive BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico polluted the state’s coastline, as the city was still recovering after Hurricane Katrina. He secured billions in federal funding for roads, schools, parks, and infrastructure, and turned New Orleans into what the President calls “One of America’s great comeback stories.”

In a statement, Governor John Bel Edwards says, “As a former Louisiana Lieutenant Governor and Mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu has a unique firsthand experience with the challenges aging infrastructure presents to our communities and also with how infrastructure improvements and projects can revitalize cities and towns….”

Yes, that’s an utterly idiotic writeup.

Let’s not forget that one of the key items in the Biden infrastructure plan is the elimination of “racist” roadways like the Claiborne Expressway through downtown New Orleans – which provides a highway connection for the central business district to the east. If you think it’s a good thing that Mitch Landrieu is in charge of doling out federal swag for infrastructure, you might consider that he’s the idiot who destroyed multiple historical landmarks in that city out of a desire to appear more woke to his mistress. Now he’s at the helm of a trillion dollars to be spent on destroying infrastructure.

And if you don’t see a threat there, let’s remember that Mitch Landrieu went out and spent more than a billion dollars to build a brand-new airport in New Orleans without bothering to link up with the state of Louisiana to build a roadway leading to that airport.

It’s the only airport we’ve ever heard of that requires you to wait at two different stoplights as you go to and from the highway. Yes, the facility is nice. It’s also completely impractical. And now Biden essentially makes this blithering, narcissistic nincompoop his infrastructure czar.

Landrieu’s appointment might have something to do with the influence of former New Orleans congressman and pool-hall brawler Cedric Richmond, who works in the White House now.

The last thing we saw from Richmond came eight days ago when he was on with Bill Hemmer and completely embarrassed himself.

Solid legal ground, huh? The Fifth Circuit has more or less eviscerated the Biden vaccine mandate so far

A federal appeals court on Friday reaffirmed its earlier decision to freeze the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate, calling the requirement for large employers to make sure its employees are vaccinated against Covid-19 “staggeringly overbroad.”

In a blistering 22-page opinion, the Fifth US Circuit Court of Appeals said that the vaccine mandate issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is “fatally flawed” and both “overinclusive” and “underinclusive.”
“Indeed, the Mandate’s strained prescriptions combine to make it the rare government pronouncement that is both overinclusive (applying to employers and employees in virtually all industries and workplaces in America, with little attempt to account for the obvious differences between the risks facing, say, a security guard on a lonely night shift, and a meatpacker working shoulder to shoulder in a cramped warehouse) and underinclusive (purporting to save employees with 99 or more coworkers from a ‘grave danger’ in the workplace, while making no attempt to shield employees with 98 or fewer coworkers from the very same threat),” the court wrote.

It’s been known for some time that New Orleans’ Democrats, both black and white, were generally speaking the dullest knives in the drawer. These are people who achieve political power solely on the basis of allegiance to a political machine built as a colony of the out-of-state-funded socialist nonprofits run by carpetbagging Ivy Leaguers; they’re successively more leftist with every iteration. Landrieu did everything he could to pander to them, while Richmond was the perfect avatar for the power structure in that city – mildly criminal, wholly arrogant, insultingly dishonest and brazenly uninterested in economics or the reality of life.

What’s interesting is how interested Biden seems to be in promoting the New Orleans Democrat machine. Barack Obama had little use for New Orleans Democrats.

Perhaps that was due to the previous generation of New Orleans Dem pols being attached to the Clinton machine. James Carville, who settled in New Orleans and had his fingers in the local pies there, was Bill Clinton’s spin doctor in chief, while Donna Brazile ran the Democrat Party while it was trying to get Hillary Clinton elected president. Brazile’s main portfolio item was to screw Bernie Sanders out of the 2016 nomination that he might otherwise have won, something she’s tarnished by though we never could quite understand why. Sanders, after all, was never a Democrat and never had done a thing for that party.

Perhaps Richmond reopened that door when he endorsed Biden early. We imagine it’s only a matter of time before the next shoe drops and Karen Carter Peterson makes her way to Washington, as has been rumored for months now.

And then LaToya Cantrell will be on the clock.

America is about to find out what New Orleans Democrats can do. It isn’t a good bet they’re going to like it much.
