Editor’s Note: we’ve had folks asking us about the 10 constitutional amendments on next month’s ballot across Louisiana. Honestly, we haven’t done all the research on them that we need to do before making any recommendations.
But we did find this on YouTube, and it’s a pretty good rundown of what’s on the ballot. So we’re passing it along.
Louisiana voters will see 10 proposed constitutional amendments on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
This Parish Watch Ballot In Focus edition explains all ten without telling you how to vote. We walk through the current rule, what would change if each amendment is adopted, what stays the same, and where another local vote or later legislation would still be required.
Topics include property-tax millage authority, the special assessment income threshold, an optional senior property-tax exemption, disabled-veteran surviving-spouse portability, rehabilitated blighted property, pension liabilities, drinking-water service lines, gubernatorial term limits, post-conviction bail, and foreign-adversary expropriation.
