Obama Says Ground Zero Mosque Is Just Fine

No, he’s not a Muslim. But he’s definitely not on the same page with the rest of the country

The president, in his prepared remarks for the Friday evening event, said, “I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground.

“But let me be clear: as a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan,” he said.

“…This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable,” Mr. Obama said.

You voted for this, America. Thanks.

Slamo, there no evidence that President Obama has ever believed in any god greater than himself.

Politicians look for "70-30" issues they can sink their teeth into as a way to build rapport for the public. This guy seems to side with the 30 percent all the time rather than the 70. Well, Michelle did say he's something different – and she wasn't lying. What she didn't say was that he would suck worse than the last three presidents combined.

Although The One is very familiar with Islam, I honestly believe he only has faith in himself.

Interesting that Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam behind the building of the controversial mosque, is being sponsored, by the US State Department, to tour the Middle East. Presumably, the trip is designed to improve US relations with Muslims there. Many, however, believe Rauf is on a fundraising expedition for the horrid mosque. Pfft.

I'm not sure what union construction worker they think they're going to be able to get to build that mosque in New York City. And I'm not sure what building inspectors they're going to find who will play ball, either.

Rauf might think his "Cultural center" will only cost $100 million. Try $150 million, if he can build it at all.

      • Mark says:

What makes you think that Hizzoner will require them to undergo building inspection? Or that they'll actually be required to use union workers in its construction? After all, they ARE Islam, and therefor they answer to a Higher power…

      • Ryan Booth says:

Civic disobedience can end up being very costly. That's why I think this thing ultimately doesn't get built. I don't think most Muslim investors, even the most rabid ones, want to throw away millions on a project that may never make it to completion.

Gutfield's got the right idea: http://www.dailygut.com/?i=4696
I'm sure The One will be glad to support that as well. All in the name of "religious freedom" and "outreach", of course!
