Cassidy’s First Senate Speech: There Is Common Ground On Keystone XL

Actually, there isn’t. President Obama continues to threaten he’ll veto an approval of the pipeline, which is idiotic but it’s his position and he’s not likely to change it.

That means the effort here is to override the veto. That’s an uphill fight since the Republicans have 54 votes, plus a few Democrats like Joe Manchin who will join them, and that might well be enough to beat a filibuster. But to get to 67 votes to override a veto? If Mitch McConnell can do that he’s a wizard.

Still, Cassidy is correct on virtually all his points here. Opposition to Keystone XL is ridiculous. It’s too bad that Democrats are ridiculous as well and the President is the King Of Ridiculous.
