It was the day after Donald J. Trump was elected president when a Facebook friend posted the following,

“My beautiful female, gay, black, immigrant, Muslim, minority, handicapped, anyone who feels marginalized, hated or fearful – friends and dearest loved ones: I will continue to fight for you. I am you. My America is great BECAUSE of you.”

Her message could not have been more sincere, heartfelt, or clear. Trump and his supporters are racists, homophobes, Islamaphobes, heartless, hateful, bigots. She on the other hand is not like that. She gets it. She’s enlightened. She cares.

This, in a nutshell, is the seductive quality of the poisonous ideology that is leftism. It elevates you above the masses. And it provides for you a clear enemy: conservatives.

In light of what many leftists sincerely believe about conservatives, the awful actions of James T. Hodgkinson make sense. Hodgkinson is a Bernie Sanders supporter and campaign volunteer. Sanders has called for a revolution. I am sure Hodgkinson considered what he did today  revolutionary.

Leftists are not into debating conservatives. Why reason with someone with an evil, racist, selfish, depraved mind?

That’s certainly the viewpoint of many leftists on college campuses these days. As Republicans continue to win more in the political arena the hard left’s only option will be violence.

The left’s viciousness toward conservatives was in full display today on Facebook after this morning’s shooting. Joachim Brandon LeBlanc of Lafayette posted this:

The belief of many leftists that conservatives are evil is nothing new. I remember several years ago having lunch with a leftist who had a similar medical operation that then U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft was about to undergo. She told me it was the most pain she had ever experienced and was glad Ashcroft will experience the same pain.  Wishing intense pain on another human. That’s some sick stuff.

And with social conservatives they take their disdain to a new level. For many on the left being a social conservative is about as nasty, dirty, and despicable as it gets.

There is a wave of conservative victories sweeping across America with Republicans controlling more state legislatures and governor’s mansions and nationally with Republicans controlling both the Senate and the House and the White House. And like a cornered snake leftists are getting more desperate. They do not play nice. Debating on the merits of their ideas is not in their arsenal. They are not constrained by truth; in fact, the postmodern philosophy espoused by the social-justice Left specifically rejects the concepts of truth and reason as oppressive. They will smear you, lie about you, and some are now turning to violence especially on college campuses.

Platitudes about unity are nice and make us feel good but when we are dealing with people seduced and deceived by an ideology that considers a large portion of Americans evil, unity should be the last thing on our minds. The left has one goal and it is clear. Silence conservatives at any cost and defeat them by whatever means necessary.
