JBE Appoints A Political Hermaphrodite To The Public Service Commission

A seat opened up on the Louisiana Public Service Commission with the resignation of Scott Angelle. To that seat Governor John Bel Edwards has appointed former State Senator Damon Baldone.

From The Advertiser:

Houma lawyer Damon J. Baldone will replace Scott Angelle as the District 2 representative on the Louisiana Public Service Commission.

The announcement was made Thursday by Gov. John Bel Edwards, who made the appointment.

Baldone, a graduate of Nicholls State University and Southern University Law School, served three terms in the Louisiana House of Representatives. He is a former high school and college teacher and has private sector experience as a pilot, real estate broker and business owner.

The PSC is an independent regulatory agency which manages the state’s public utilities and motor carriers.

The appointment, which is for the remainder of Angelle’s unexpired term, ends in January 2019. Angelle resigned the position May 23 when he joined the Trump administration as director of the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement in Washington, an agency under the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Damon Baldone is famous for a couple of things in recent years. The first one is that he was one of the stupid people whose names was on the Ashley Madison list. Ashley Madison is a website where people could meet with and hook up with married women. The thing about Ashley Madison was that it was mostly dudes on that website.

Baldone also was infamous trying to run for office as both a Democrat and a Republican in 2015. Baldone was trying to become Louisiana’s first political hermaphrodite. It was a cynical ploy that thankfully was shot down by the courts.

Baldone is already causing problems with his appointment. The Hayride learned that he promised JBE that he was not going to run for election to the seat in 2018. However, Baldone has gone back on his word and he promises now to run for election in 2018.
