GOP and Democrats Fully Fund Border Wall – In Jordan [video]

Thanks to Republican Sen. Rand Paul, and Breitbart News, we now know that Democrats fully supported fully funding building a border wall– for the country of Jordan.

The 2018 omnibus bill only extended building the border fence by 33 miles, even though President Trump’s plan proposes closing 700 open miles along the U.S.-Mexico border. But the bill provided $500 million to help Jordan build a wall across its border with Syria.

While reading through the bill, Sen. Paul tweeted:

The omnibus budget states on page 394:

SEC. 9011. Up to $500,000,000 of funds appropriated by this Act for the Defense Security Cooperation Agency in ‘‘Operation and Maintenance, Defense-Wide’’ may be used to provide assistance to the Government of Jordan to support the armed forces of Jordan and to enhance security along its borders.

One of the military contractors, Raytheon, stated in a 2015 press release: “Our team has delivered on that model supporting [U.S. government] DTRA border security contracts across the world in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and in Jordan.

“In total, the systems we have installed protect 4,500 miles of borders.”

Why didn’t Raytheon propose building the U.S. border wall?

The omnibus bill also reduced the number of detention beds kept to hold migrants prior to their asylum and deportation court hearings. It also denied Trump’s request to explicitly block federal grants to sanctuary cities.
