Announcing This Year’s Hayride Baton Rouge Dinner Set For May 4!

We thought we’d close out our postings this week by giving you some great news – we’re all set for a great Hayride event in Baton Rouge in a few weeks!

The Renaissance Hotel on Bluebonnet Blvd. will be the scene of the 2022 Hayride Baton Rouge dinner on May 4.

The event will come off just like previous ones we’ve done. It’ll start with a 6:00 cocktail hour, which will be an open bar for beer and wine and a cash bar for mixed drinks and other spirits. Just after 7:00 we’ll have dinner and the program.

And what a program! Speakers for this year’s Baton Rouge dinner include…

  • State Representative Laurie Schlegel;
  • Louisiana Solicitor General Liz Murrill; and
  • American Spectator publisher Melissa Mackenzie.

Bringing Melissa in from Houston to speak at this year’s Baton Rouge event is a nice coup, if we do say so ourselves. She’s been a conservative blogger since the Andrew Breitbart days and she has what we would call a revivalist perspective on American politics – meaning the status quo isn’t good enough and going on offense is an imperative. And of course Liz Murrill has argued five times in front of the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of the state of Louisiana; she’s a candidate for Attorney General in next year’s elections. Laurie Schlegel is a first-term legislator from Metairie who took over after winning a special election to replace Charles Henry; she’s rapidly built a reputation as one of the brightest stars in the legislature.

Yes, they’re all female, which is a new thing for Hayride event speaker rosters. We thought it would be a lot of fun to change things up, particularly when we’re blessed with such a great group as a result.

We’re really excited about this year’s event, and we hope you are, too. Tickets for the event are $80, and table sponsorships, which include a reserved table with signage and 10 tickets for your invited guests, go for $1500.

Here’s a link to buy tickets for the event. And here’s a link by which your organization can sponsor a table. We’ll see you on May 4!
